Why Communications and Media?

On our Communications and Media degree you’ll learn digital production skills, including video, photography and web design. You’ll also be taught how to create effective social media campaigns, along with other key skills a communications and media professional needs, such as copywriting and strategic planning. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Our media centre includes professional-standard film, TV, music and news studios, along with editing suites and production galleries. You’ll have the chance to experiment with new technologies such as 360 cameras, virtual and augmented reality equipment and green screen studios. By graduation you’ll have built the knowledge, skills, experience and contacts needed to succeed in the world of communications and media.The course is taught by communications specialists, journalists and media practitioners. This means you’ll benefit not only from your tutors’ wealth of knowledge but also from their extensive network of industry connections. There’ll be opportunities to gain real experience on work placements and to be inspired in guest lectures and workshops. In previous years, visitors to the Media School have included experts from the likes of Google, Marie Claire, 'Top Gear' and 'Empire' magazines, the BBC, ITV and a number of communications and PR agencies.
