Computer Games (Top Up) BA (Hons)

This top-up course is designed to allow students to build knowledge and experience to find their place in the world of computer game design and development. Working across a number of disciplines, students will experience the full range of job roles in the game industry and gain an understanding of how these roles work together to produce innovative, engaging games. You will be given the opportunity to work across a wide range of computer games platforms, learning to create assets using industry standard software and implement those assets into the game engines used by industry professionals.You will also be developed as a creative individual, learning to appreciate and apply the artistic and narrative techniques that form the core of games as an aesthetic experience.You will become well versed in the real world of computer games, learning how the past, present and future of computer games are vital to your career and personal development.You will have the opportunity to devise your own game mechanics, 2D assets and 3D models, developing skills in a number of creative and technical disciplines to create well realised, playable games. There will be a strong emphasis on professional development and employability, encouraging students to work to industry standards in real world contexts.The Games Industry generates upwards of $100bn per year worldwide, there is clearly a demand for graduates with a Degree in Games.
