Course summary
Take your love of computer games to the next level with our BSc Computer Games Development course. Channel your passion for video games into your dream career. Youll learn by doing, developing your own games using the high-performance kit in our Games Laboratory and software for use on your own PC. Focusing on software development for computer games, well prepare you for a successful career in software engineering and the games industry. Youll get to develop your programming expertise using C, maths and problem solving. During the course youll study computer graphics, artificial intelligence (AI), game mechanics and effective practical software development. Our students have won the Games Programming award at the Aardvark Swift ‘Search for a Star nationwide competition more than any other university. Computer games developers work as part of a multi-skilled team to produce high quality, innovative and exciting products to tight deadlines. Youll graduate with the full set of skills you need to create a complex, interactive computer game. Previous students have gone on to work for some of the biggest names in the games industry, including Capcom, Codemasters, Crytek, EA Games, Evolution, Fuse Games, Jagex, Lionhead, Logistix, Pitbull, Playbox, Protirus, Rare, Rockstar, Ruffian, Steel Monkeys and Travellers Tales.
