Course summary
Learn to produce art-related assets for computer games. You’ll develop core skills and industry-standard practice in modelling, texturing and animation. Then this is the right course. If you are more interested in the programming side, see our Computer Games Programming course.HOW YOU WILL LEARNThere’s a mixture of lectures, tutorials and practical sessions. You’ll learn to work with a core set of tools: Maya, Photoshop, ZBrush and Unreal® Engine 4. You’ll also hear regular talks from industry experts and have the opportunity to do work for genuine clients. OPPORTUNITIES AND EXPERIENCESWe encourage you to enter competitions and showcase your work at our annual Games Expo, which attracts leading UK gaming companies. To give yourself the edge, choose to take the year in industry too. CAREERS AND EMPLOYABILITYThe computer games industry is one of the largest and fastest growing entertainment industries in the world so your employment prospects should be good. You will graduate from Computer Games Modelling and Animation with the skills to create and animate 3D art in a real-time environment using the latest techniques. This means you’ll be suitable for a range of specialised 3D art roles, not only in computer games but in the film and visualisation industries too.
