This course is designed to accommodate almost all levels of prior learning.
What will I study?This course lets you learn about different aspects of computer science. You will get the skills you need to work in the technology industry. You will not only learn in the classroom, but also work on real projects by yourself or with a team.During this course you will acquire a broad range of skills covering computation theory, fundamentals of computer science, basic programming, software development and testing, databases, algorithms, and data structures, whilst building secure web and mobile applications, alongside analysing life-critical systems. From your first day and onwards, you are with us, you will be studying topics ranging from Programming Concepts, Computer Architecture, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Data Science.
How will I be taught and assessed?We teach in a way that is interactive and student focused. You will have lectures, tutorials, labs, seminars, and guest speakers to help you learn. We design our course to match the workplace. You will do independent study, with online support from Blackboard, our Virtual Learning platform. We will also give you reading lists and resources to help you study.You will be assessed and graded in different ways to improve your skills and abilities. You will do practical coursework, and lab tests, with the focus being on testing the practical application of the various concepts and techniques being conveyed.
