Course summary

The BSc (Hons) Computer Technologies (Software Development) course provides a one year progression route to an honours degree for students who have studied a foundation degree in computing, such as the FdSc Computer Technologies (Software Development) or FdSc Computing and Networking at University of Suffolk or elsewhere. Covering key advanced topics such as software research and development, mobile computing, security principles and web scripting, the course equips students for a career in the computing industry. The course includes a project module that provides the student with an opportunity to specialise in an aspect of computing that is of particular interest to the individual. The course is delivered within fully equipped computing labs that provide access to industry-standard computer hardware and software. The course helps students develop vocationally related technical skills and abilities, along with the academic insight and understanding. The course is designed to reflect contemporary computing practice.
