Our BSc (Hons) Computing degree has been designed to provide you with everything you need for a successful career as a computing professional. At every level of the degree, we give you the flexibility to choose from a range of specialist computing modules allowing you to design the degree around your individual ambitions and interests. The first year provides foundational skills in computing-related mathematics, hardware, networks, programming and web design, and can choose an optional module in artificial intelligence, cyber security, or data science. In the second year and third year, you create your own expertise portfolio by choosing optional modules in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cyber security, databases, data science, mobile app development, networks and web application development, with mandatory modules in software engineering, research skills, and the final-year project. The Computing degree is ideally suited for students who wish to build their own degree by choosing module combinations unavailable on the other degrees we offer or for students who are as yet undecided on which computing sub-discipline to focus on.Upon graduation from this degree, students can progress into a range of roles, including:Data Scientist, Web Developer, Mobile App Developer, Network Engineer, Data Analyst, Software Engineer, Cyber Security Expert or Start your own business All graduates will also have the opportunity to start their own business within the University of Suffolk Innovation Centre (IWIC). Here, students will have access to hot desk space, networking and collaborative opportunities.
