Course summary
Corruption threatens our livelihoods. It’s a source of conflict, inequity and distrust. In many places it’s emerging in novel ways with damaging impacts on society. Join us if you want to develop your understanding of what corruption is, where and why it happens, and what we can do about it. On this unique UK Masters course, you’ll explore: • multidisciplinary approaches to corruption and anti-corruption • corruption’s direct and indirect harms and how to alleviate them • successes and failures of anti-corruption interventions by international institutions, governments, civil society and business • the intersections between corruption and international development, environment and natural resources, technology, gender and more. Taking you from theory to practice, this course will prepare you to identify corruption in diverse contexts. You'll learn to design and implement appropriate anti-corruption responses. You'll study with experts in the internationally renowned Centre for the Study of Corruption. They'll share their research expertise and policy experience from working with international agencies including the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, UK Home Office, and others. As part of our vibrant research community, you can build your network by engaging with our faculty, visiting researchers, guest speakers, doctoral researchers and our global alumni network. You can boost your career prospects by working with a non-governmental organisation (NGO), regulatory body or other suitable organisation on an integrated internship. You'll also learn how to apply our case study template in your own research and there are scholarships and prizes available for excellent academic performance.
