Course summary

This is a unique course that will offer you the opportunity to experience and explore diverse creative areas, as well as giving you the technical skills required to execute your ideas. Computing skills have never been in higher demand, so we've developed this degree to help you gain the key skills and knowledge valued by today's businesses. The skills of a creative technologist are wide-ranging. They need creative design skills and vision to conceptualise and innovate, as well as the technical skills needed to develop prototypes and applications. This course offers you the distinctive opportunity to experience these diverse areas, giving you control over building your own unique skills-set. This enables you to work across a broad spectrum of the creative computing industries. The School of Computing and Engineering was voted best modern university for this discipline in the National Student Survey 2015, giving your degree the competitive edge. Our membership of the Academic Developer Programme and Alliance of leading firms is further testament to our expertise in the field, and we are also in the process of seeking British Computer Society Accreditation. IT graduates generally have a good record of achieving employment and progressing in their professional work. Popular paths for graduates from this course system interaction design and in particular in the area of web and mobile applications development and design. You may also wish to undertake postgraduate study to specialise in a subject you’ve already studied, or to explore something new.
