The MRes is ideal for teachers and education professionals who are interested in developing creative learning experiences in their classrooms – whatever the curricular area or age of pupils.
The programme has been designed with working educators in mind, with face-to-face workshops taking place at evenings/weekends, supported by online and distance learning.
Course Overview
Creativity is fundamental to learning.
The Masters by Research in Creative Learning will offer students the opportunity to develop an understanding of the processes of innovation, creativity and design thinking, and apply this learning to a school / classroom context.
The MRes Programme has been designed with working teachers in mind, with face to face learning opportunities organised to suit educational professionals in evening sessions; it will be delivered through a combination of lectures, workshops, seminars and master classes.
Collaboration and peer observation are integral to the design of the initial taught elements with the aim of developing a safe and supportive environment to explore and test ideas.
The second part of the programme will enhance students’ ability to manage complex research projects. In addition students will learn about approaches to impact assessment and evaluation of classroom intervention; they will have the opportunity to implement and evaluate a creative learning innovation in their own classroom or school setting.
The Creative Learning (MRes) is a practice-oriented, research Master’s degree that is ideal for teachers and education professionals who are interested in developing creative learning experiences in their classrooms – whatever the curricular area or age of children.
Career Opportunities
Creative Learning (MRes) is an ideal opportunity to develop your teaching practice and pedagogy through applied research skills and hands-on creative and arts-based practice.
The MRes will also offer an invaluable springboard to study for a doctoral degree or progress onto the professional Education Doctorate programme.
