This is the 4 year course which includes a Professional Placement Year.BA Creative Media is designed to train up the next generation of content creators seeking to work at the cutting-edge of creative enterprise, digital production, and socially engaged, participatory media practice.The Creative Media programme is a creative gateway to developing a broad range of media content creation skills, enabling progression into a growing and highly innovative content production sector. Fulfilling your creative and entrepreneurial potential, students will have a range of opportunities to develop production skills across different digital and interactive media, developing an identity as commercially and socially engaged media professionals who understand where the opportunities for innovation and enterprise really are.Want to learn how to effectively make the transition from media student to successful media professional? In the final year, students will join Artswork Media, a professional production company and digital agency. Based at Paintworks, in the heart of Bristol’s creative quarter, this Bath Spa University-led company is run by students and creative media professionals. Students enrich their portfolios and employability prospects creating media for industry clients. Previous clients include Bristol Old Vic to Boomtown Music Festival. BA Creative Media is ideal for aspiring:• Content creators across media• Creative directors and producers• Media entrepreneurs• Branded content producersStudents will have unique access to not only Artswork Media, but also the Media Industry Mentor programme and Centre for Media Research’s in-house Digital Media Hackathons and Industry Roundtable events, providing students with direct access to cutting-edge creative design workshops and media showcases where industry networks can be harnessed and new creative ideas implemented.**More about the Professional Placement Year**A Professional Placement Year (PPY), traditionally known as a sandwich year, is where a student undertakes a period of work with an external organisation for between 9-13 months. The placement occurs between the students' second and third years of undergraduate study. Students can engage in up to 3 placements to make up the total time and are required to source the placement(s) themselves with support from the Careers and Employability Team.
