Course summary

This is the final year BA top-up course following a two-year FdA (Foundation Degree) or HND in Photography or Digital Filmmaking.

This course has been designed to enable you to achieve intellectual, innovative, creative and practical skills and to engage successfully with the world of professional practice and enterprise.

You will engage increasingly in ‘live’ projects, developing entrepreneurial skills and independent practice to achieve professional work and enriched contacts within industry. You will work with visiting practitioners, as well as our academic staff who have specialist professional experience.

This programme will build on the skills and knowledge students have acquired during their FdA or HND course and allow them to develop, promote and engage increasingly in projects that provide a bridge to the world of work. The course aims to encourage entrepreneurial skills, autonomy and independent practice; engaging in enterprise that directly interacts with creative media, working on achieving professional work, career development and enriched contacts within industry.

The changing cultural/technological evolution of digital and photographic work will be explored and addressed with specific regard to the convergent nature of pathways in photography and filmmaking, and how they are continually influencing, reacting and engaging with each other.
