Why Criminology and Sociology (with placement)

Our Criminology and Sociology degree will give you the skills you need for a successful and rewarding career, creating safer and stronger communities. There are also opportunities for field studies in UK locations such as Newquay and Belfast, and in international settings such as Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina (additional costs may apply, see course web page for details). You’ll draw on the expertise of experienced lecturers and optional modules allow you to tailor your study to match your own career ambitions. There are opportunities to investigate mock crime scenes in our new crime scene house, work on real cases as part of our Homicide Research Group, and help the police tackle anti-social behaviour by volunteering for our Student Community Patrol.
