**This is a lively, practical, hands-on course designed to enable you to develop the skills and knowledge required to work at the cutting-edge of the fast-moving global digital design industry. Emphasis is placed on creative origination, problem solving and commercial products/processes. This is delivered through studio based, student-centred, responsive teaching & learning, with access to a wide range of digital production facilities. The emphasis is on creativity and experimentation, culminating in the final year with a substantial piece of self-initiated work, complemented by commercially-led briefs and professional practice.****About the course**You'll study core design skills, visual communication and creative processes that can be adopted in the exploration of digital design problems. Specialist disciplines are developed in studio practice sessions, allowing you the flexibility to choose a specialist focus based on your own design interests.Current students are working towards specialisms in:- Branding- Game Design- Animation and Motion Graphics- User Interface (UI)/User Experience (UX) Design You will develop your skills and portfolio in these areas using industry-standard hardware and software, through projects, competitions and live briefs developed with our industry partners. The course may include: live briefs, industry visits, field trips and guest speakers.**Modules include:**- Ideas Generation- User-Centered Design- Visual Communication- Specialist Studio Practice- Industry Studies- Final Major Project (in your chosen area) **Assessment**Your work will be assessed on a continuous basis. There are no examinations.**Bursaries**We want our courses to be accessible to students from any background, so we’ve put together a cash support package in the form of non-repayable bursaries to provide financial help where it’s really needed. Details for 2022-23 will be advertised once approved by the university regulator – the Office for Students (OfS). You could progress to the final stages of a related honours degree or to our BA (Hons) Digital Media Design top-up degree, awarded by Nottingham Trent University. We have links with local, national and international companies who look for graduates to join their organisations. Our annual end-of-year show is the ideal opportunity to showcase your work to talent scouts from the creative industries.
