**The Higher National Certificate Digital Journalism course has been developed in consultation with national companies and freelance professionals and is aimed at people who have a story to tell: investigators, influencers and marketeers are all welcome.****About the course**The course is informed by professional practitioners and you will investigate all of the growing and changing outlets for dynamic contemporary journalism, including sound, video and podcasts. You will identify the medium that suits you best in the context of traditional journalism, up to the minute technology, and contemporary ethical issues.**Modules may include**- Journalism Practice- Journalism & Society- Digital Page Production- Investigative Journalism- Reportage**Assessment**Coursework may include: presentations, research portfolios, online journals. There are no examinations.**Qualification Award****Higher National Certificate in Creative Media Production (Journalism)** - awarded by Pearson.**Bursaries**We want our courses to be accessible to students from any background, so we’ve put together a cash support package in the form of non-repayable bursaries to provide financial help where it’s really needed. Details for 2022-23 will be advertised once approved by the university regulator – the Office for Students (OfS). Please check our website - www.nottinghamcollege.ac.uk - for more information.**Careers and Progression**From the HNC, it is planned to offer a **HND (Higher National Diploma in Digital Journalism** - beginning in September 2021. Graduates from the HND could progress to our **BA (Hons) Digital Media Design top-up degree**, validated by Nottingham Trent University; or a similar course at another provider (subject to entry requirements). Alternatively, graduates from the HNC may wish to seek employment in the Creative Industries. Although Journalism is the main focus, some graduates choose to move in to allied careers in Advertising and Marketing as well as video production and page design.
