Digital Marketing Management BA (Hons)

The BA (Hons) Digital Marketing Management degree at Cardiff Met has been developed in conjunction with the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (IDM) syllabuses and the needs of the digital industry. Digital marketing channels have revolutionised the manner in which all businesses - whether domestic or global, large or small independent enterprises - operate and market their business activities. An ever-increasing number of organisations are embracing digital marketing platforms to enhance and support their core marketing communications objectives. As such digital marketing management has evolved from a peripheral element of organisational marketing to a pivotal ‘must do’ activity. Employers from all sectors of business are seeking out graduates with digital marketing skills in an endeavour to facilitate this knowledge base within their organisations. You will learn a wide range of key digital marketing tools and techniques including Digital Analytics, Search Marketing: Content and SEO & PPC and Mobile Marketing and Social Marketing.Becoming a 'Met Marketer' will enable you to gain the academic knowledge and practical skills needed to gain employment in the marketing industry and has a great reputation for its vocational orientation. Upon graduating you will have a wide base of digital, marketing and management knowledge in what marketers say will be the most important knowledge capabilities in the next five years: Digital Marketing, Branding, Marketing communications, Global and International Marketing, PR and Corporate Reputation. The BA (Hons) Digital Marketing Management degree will also enable you to use this knowledge to create a combined digital marketing plan.The structure and content of the course will allow you to develop your skills through working on real campaigns in collaboration with relevant businesses. In addition to this there are additional opportunities to practise your digital skill by participating in the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (IDM) Student Marketing Competition. The competition will give you enable you to experience what it is like to work for an advertising agency by working on a campaign for a well-known industry brand with the three highest-scoring finalists will be invited to pitch their ideas to the client face to face.Our BA (Hons) Digital Marketing Management degree is in the process of being awarded IDM accredited status - which will enable our students the opportunity to gain exemptions form the IDM Certificate in Digital Marketing. In addition to this you will be able to participate in our CIM Student chapter and follow in the footsteps of our award students by participating in the CIM Pitch Competition.The Lecturers have both academic knowledge and industry experiences to teach you the skills you need for the workplace after graduation. You will also undertake a compulsory work placement module in the second year as this is considered an essential requirement for all marketing students. For those who wish, there is the additional opportunity to take a sandwich degree in which the third year could be spent undertaking an appropriate marketing industry placement.
