Course summary

Develop your understanding of how digital media interacts with society from a sociological perspective. Our academic staff bring their research into the classroom and encourage you to explore the most pressing digital media debates. You’ll gain an advanced understanding of key aspects of digital media, including how to research digital society, and utilise key digital practices and methods. You will then have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills to an area of your own interest. As a student within the Faculty of Social Sciences, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the faculty-wide Digital Society Network, which brings together interdisciplinary researchers engaged in cutting-edge work at the intersection of society and technology.
