The course is focused on employability and skills taught on the course will prepare graduates for a wide-range of careers in these key sectors. The course features a diverse range of skills required to succeed in the industry and focuses on: special effects make-up, prosthetics, prop construction, wig, costume, creature and puppet design, virtual and augmented reality, lighting and sound design. Teaching and learning is firmly focused on use of cutting-edge technology in digital scanning, photogrammetry, digital sculpting software, 3D printing and virtual reality.What happens on the course?The BA (Hons) in Digital Production Arts is distinctive in its approach. Teaching on this course utilises the most recent digital technology to produce design for film, television and theatre; all teaching takes place in our specialist workshop or in professional contexts, for example industry scenarios and placements. The course allows you to gain skills and knowledge in special effects make-up, prosthetics, costume and wig design, production management, and digital manipulation for theatre; its structure reflects the breadth of industry practice and the employment opportunities available to graduates. We prepare you for these opportunities through regular engagement with industry professionals.
