Course overview

Earth science at Newcastle considers novel innovations in the biological, chemical and physical sciences, and supporting technologies such as GIS, remote sensing and environmental informatics.

This five-year degree is similar to our Earth Science MEarthSci Honours but between Stages 2 and 3 you will take a year out in industry. This is a great opportunity to advance your academic knowledge with practical work experience in the Earth science field.

Including two from Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Geography, Biology or similar science-based A level, but excluding General Studies and Critical Thinking. For Biology, Chemistry and Physics A levels, we require a pass in the practical element. GCSE Mathematics (minimum grade B or 6) required if not offered at A or AS level.
