Course summary

Taught by Conservation Ecologists and biologists, this course investigates a range of UK habitats and species, and provides students with the skills to make Important decisions on conservation issues at management level.Whilst final details are still being validated, the programme will look like the following:-Year One - common across FdSc and BSc, this year will lay the groundwork in the fundamentals of Ecology from individual species to ecosystems.You will also develop essential study skills which you'll build on throughout your course.Year Two - All Students will get a good grounding in taxonomy, cladistics and research methods for biosciences . Subject specifics modules will cover field ecology and the origins of biodiversity, and there will be elective units such as our cutting edge field work module with its all new field trip. Year Three - You will carry out your own independent research project and have the opportunity to choose from some selective units.Core units will include behavioural ecology and advanced wildlife conservation. You will also get the opportunity to learn more about subjects such as greening the grey and paleobiology .
