Course summary
The MEcon Economics and Finance degree at Lincoln offers a combination of core economics and finance topics enabling students to develop into economists with a specialism. These aim to equip students with the skills to analyse financial and economic events and their impact on markets. During this course, students have the opportunity to gain a theoretical and practical understanding of the economy and the crucial role played by the financial sector globally. Teaching introduces students to advanced financial techniques, including pricing and portfolio management. Students are supported to develop high-level advanced analytical skills that are valued in the business and financial sectors for decision making, portfolio planning, risk management and working within financial markets. For those who choose to enrol on the MEcon, the fourth year of study includes a substantive research project in an area of particular interest. Continuation on to the MEcon is dependent upon students fulfilling the progression requirements.
