This helps you to understand how people, firms, institutions and governments make decisions, and the implications of such decisions on individuals, businesses and society.Economics is more than a study of the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services. It focuses on how people, businesses and governments interact with each other and their surroundings in the face of scarcity or adversity – how choices and decisions impact individuals and society. Governments use economic data to guide their response to pressing issues such as how to reduce public health costs. Businesses develop strategies on anything from pricing and advertising to investment in product development.
