You might consider the historical, socio-political, economic, gender and geographical contexts of fiction, poetry and drama from the Renaissance period to the present day. You will have the opportunity, if you wish, to develop your skills as a creative writer, and you can take modules in Film Studies.Modules in Education focus on historical, socio-political and economic influences on outcomes and experiences of education. Education at Keele is distinctive because of its strong focus on contemporary issues in education and policy making and the unique combinations offered with a range of other subjects.You’ll graduate with a wide range of skills including oral and written communication, presentation, and advanced critical competencies. You will be able to communicate complex ideas effectively to different kinds of audience, producing persuasive arguments informed by careful research. You'll be ready to take up a career in teaching, politics, the civil service, journalism and business. If you are thinking of travelling the world after graduation or teaching abroad, Keele’s Language Centre offers a variety of language courses which you can take alongside your degree and graduate with an enhanced degree title, for example, 'BA (Hons) Education and English Literature with competency in Japanese'.
