Course summary

Our Education and Psychology degree will give you expert scientific training in the relationship between the mind, brain, and behaviour, together with an excellent grounding in education policy, child development, and educational neuroscience. You will develop an in-depth understanding of educational practice in a digital age, education in national and international contexts, leadership and management, and diversity and wellbeing in education. You will learn about the psychological and neuro-scientific processes that underpin activities such as thinking, reasoning, memory and language, developing a solid foundation in cognitive, social, developmental, clinical, and biological psychology. Throughout your studies, you will develop excellent research, critical analysis, and communication skills, as well as a high degree of numeracy and ICT ability.As this BPS accredited degree is the first step towards pursuing a professional career in Psychology, many of our graduates have gone on to further study or work in specialist psychology fields. The typical starting salary for an NHS trainee clinical psychologist is £25,783. As your career progresses you could earn between £47,088 and £81,000 or higher. Salaries in private practice vary. There are many rewarding careers that build on the combined disciplines of psychology and education, including prison education, the education of looked after children, lifelong learning, special educational needs, and community education. Graduates have also pursued careers in education, teaching English as a foreign language, government and local authorities, research, health and social care, management, and marketing.
