All of our Engineering degrees provide project-based learning, helping you to develop the transferable skills and the multidisciplinary awareness so highly prized by industry.The Foundation Year provides a route onto an Engineering degree if you don't have the qualifications or have not studied advanced level subjects sufficiently related to your course of choice.After successful completion of the Engineering Foundation Year, you can progress on to the relevant BEng (Hons) / BSc (Hons) degree:- BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering- BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering- BSc (Hons) Product Design EngineeringWhichever route you take, you’ll have the skills and understanding you need to get started on your engineering career.**FEATURES AND BENEFITS:**- Provides a route onto your chosen degree course if you don't meet the current entry requirements.- Foundation Years are designed to make undergraduate degrees more accessible to those who are under-represented in higher education, for example, those with non-traditional qualifications.- Has content that is tailored so that it is appropriate to your chosen degree.- Helps you to develop the study skills and academic knowledge you will need to start Year 1 of your course with confidence.- You will be eligible to apply for student finance in the same way as other undergraduates.- Tackle real challenges from the world of engineering. Every year, we invite businesses and academic colleagues to set live projects that challenge our students to devise innovative solutions to current problems. You’ll get feedback and advice directly from industry insiders – giving you the chance to find out exactly what it takes to impress a potential future employer.- Showcase your engineering and design skills in extra-curricular group projects like the Formula Student racing car competition or the Engineering For People Design Challenge.- You may be invited to publish the results of your individual and group work in the Department of Engineering Student Society’s peer-reviewed journal and to present your final project work at the Department’s degree show.- Adapt your schedule to suit your needs through our drop-in workshops and laboratories.
