Course summary

Electronic engineers design, develop, test, and oversee the creation of anything from drones and electric cars to the technology in smartphones, sat navs and systems in hospitals.Our course offers you many different ways to develop your understanding of electronics. You'll work on lab-based projects, work individually and in small teams. You'll learn to project manage and bring your technical knowledge to problem solve different situations.During your third year, you can study at either our China or Malaysia campus where you will have the opportunity to experience differing cultures. The curriculum is exactly the same as that of the UK and all teaching is in English. Your year will be spent studying core modules, and depending on the subject specialisms you have selected, appropriate optional modules.With the ever-changing developments in technology, you will graduate with the confidence to create, understand and develop electrical control systems of the future.All our electrical and electronic courses have the same content in year one and two so by year three, you can choose to specialise in the topics that interest you.Our four-year MEng course is the preferred route to achieving Chartered Engineer status. It will give you a deeper understanding of the role of electrical engineering compared to our BEng course.
