**Please note this course replaces BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering (with placement year) from September 2021.**Electronics and robotics engineers are at the forefront of fully automated manufacturing and the future of product development inour world. You will be working on real-world embedded systems and microelectronic and robotics engineering projects involvingdesign, coding, analysis, optimisation, and manufacturing of smart connected electronics and robotics systems of the 21stcentury.ARU’s new project-based BEng Electronics and Robotics course aims to equip you with vital knowledge and theory throughreal-world engineering projects. The emphasis of the course is to develop skills by frequently working in teams, taking ondifferent roles and presenting your work.You will be put in the centre of your engineering education by carrying out the four phases of an engineering project (design,analyse, build and test). You will develop both technical skills and knowledge associated with the engineering profession andwould consider the implications of the projects in terms of their economic, social and environmental impacts. This leads tograduating as a confident engineer and a critical thinker, who is committed to ongoing learning and is ready and inspired to useyour problem-solving skills to influence change and positively impact society.The design of the course considers recent trends towards Industry 4.0 with emphasis on digital tools for engineering andmanufacturing, internet of things, and systematic approach in project-based learning.With an ever-growing demand for skilled electronics and robotics engineers, our new curriculum has sought to be accredited bythe IET and will equip you with the skills and expertise you will need to meet the challenges of a constantly changing industrialworld and help you work towards recognised internationally engineering chartership.Project-based BEng Electronics and Robotics degree puts employability at the heart of engineering education by integratinglearning in the context of real-world projects. Our graduates are expected to be confident engineers, critical thinkers, andinspired to use their problem-solving skills to influence change and innovation and impact society and will practice real-worldembedded systems and microelectronic and robotics engineering projects involving design, coding, analysis, optimisation, andmanufacturing of smart connected electronics and robotics systems of the 21st century.
