Course summary
This course will enable the student to progress into a management role within an engineering business through experiential learning in the fields of: organisational management, finance and professional practice in the fields of new product development, manufacturing and production, supply chain, and general business.
The field of engineering management exists to deliver the needs of the customer throughout the full engineering lifecycle of a product, and will include: project management; technical oversight, product verification; production planning; production management; product support and, system qualification.
A manager in an engineering business will provide both project and technical leadership for the engineering and manufacturing operations. This key management role exists to ensure that the business targets for cost, quality and timing are achieved.
The MSc degree programme is accredited by the Institution of Agricultural Engineers (IAgrE) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer. The award has been developed to meet the Engineering Council Output Standards for Masters Degrees other than Integrated Masters.
Students can also exit with PGCert and PGDip awards.
