This course provides a scientific background customised to your needs as well as enhanced study skills. A choice of modules are available from the life, physical, geographical and environmental sciences; mathematics; computing and psychology.After you have completed your Science Foundation Year, you could progress on to the Environmental Science degree. Our Environmental Science course draws on expertise within the disciplines of life sciences, chemical sciences and geosciences as well as the expertise of our environmental staff and their experience of working in environmental regulation and environmental consultancy. The course emphasises the role and importance of scientific understanding and practical skills in the analysis and management of environmental problems, ensuring a course which is targeted at employment in the environmental sector. Alongside studying topical global environmental issues and solutions, you will have the opportunity to develop a broad range of practical, laboratory and field-based skills working with a range of environmental samples, as well as developing expertise in Geographic Information Systems and statistical analysis. You will also have the opportunity to complete fieldwork overseas, gain valuable work experience or study abroad at one of our partner institutions.
