Specialist Amenities: The campus was founded in 1967 and has provided over 50 years of high quality education and training with equine courses being offered since the early 1990s. The combination of excellent equestrian, teaching and residential facilities at the campus enables students to develop their practical and academic competencies in a pleasant environment. The students receive excellent support from members of the national and international equine industry. The campus has an impressive range of indoor and outdoor facilities. There are stabling facilities for student livery horses, a horse walker, an indoor arena and a number of outdoor arenas. The equine industry is an international business with many job opportunities, enabling students to experience life and work around the world. Enniskillen Campus currently provides the widest range of equine programmes in Ireland. Courses have been developed which meet the needs of the industry and students alike, producing graduates with the capability to succeed in a wide range of careers. Through the courses, the College aims to help develop a competitive equine industry and aspires to give students an insight into many different equine related careers.Career profile from Emma McCabe (Past Student): I graduated from CAFRE Enniskillen Campus with both a Foundation (FdSc) and Honours (BSc) in Equine Management. During my studies on the Foundation Degree at CAFRE, we are given the opportunity to undergo work placement which was a huge turning point for me. This is where I found my core interest of the Racing Industry. This opened many doors and connections for me that would not have been possible without the diversity of this course. With this, I decided to progress on to the BSc Honours Degree and pursue my interest further. I was awarded the Horse Racing Ireland Bursary for their Social Media and Marketing Campaign which led me to choose my Honours dissertation which was based on the growth rates of thoroughbred foals. On completion of the course, I was lucky enough to obtain the Coolmore Internship which has led me to my career in the industry today. I now work as a Stallion Stud Secretary and Client Relations for Kia Ora Stud (Scone, Australia). I am the main point of contact for our Stallion side of the Business. This involves selling nominations, booking covers and organisation of Stallion Parades and Open House Days. I am also responsible for keeping our clients up to date on their stock and advising clients on how to create profitable processes and I act as a point of contact for any issues that may arise. I look back at my time in CAFRE and can easily say it was one if the greatest and key parts of my life. I was given the opportunity to grow and discover myself in a place where I felt safe to ask questions and given confidence that with the right guidance I would be set on the right path. I truly believe that with the diversity that this course offers, being able to work academically in a classroom and also being able to be hands on in the industry will stand to anyone who can make the most of those opportunities.
