Course summary

Our Equine Science and Thoroughbred Management course is the only degree of its kind in the UK. We teach this course in partnership with Abingdon and Witney College. Most of the teaching is here at Oxford Brookes, with some sessions at the college's stud farm at Witney Campus.Our partnership with the Common Leys stud means that you will put theory into practice. You will:- spend time with thoroughbreds as you learn about anatomy and genetics- see youngstock reared and sold from the stud- deepen your understanding of what makes a good racehorse. Raising thoroughbreds is a billion-pound international industry. As a result there is a demand for highly qualified professionals. Possible careers include:- Racehorse Manager- Horse Breeder- Stud Farm Manager- Equine Occupational Therapist- Horse Trainer- Academic.
