Course summary

The Events sector is a vibrant segment in the UK and NI economies and one which makes a significant contribution to job creation. It has been identified as a priority area by Tourism NI.

This two-year programme, validated by Ulster University, is ideal for those who seek a career in organisations such as hotels, charities, event organisers, festivals or the fashion industry.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is by combination of assignments, examinations and organisation of events as well as a project undertaken during work-based learning. The work placement is undertaken in the final semester of the course which enables students to stay on within the industry, with the possibility of gaining fulltime employment.

Career Prospects

Students who complete the course may proceed to the final year of the honours degree in many universities. Ulster University will accept students onto the final year of the Leisure and Events Management degree after undertaking additional bridging modules. Alternatively, since this programme has been designed to meet the demands of a major employment growth area, you will be able to pursue a career in the events industry.
