Course summary

Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Association of Project Management and Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing, this exciting four-year course primes you with theoretical knowledge and practical skill set needed to create and oversee events, large and small. To succeed in events management you’ll need an expert grasp of event marketing, financial reporting, project planning, event bidding and consumer behaviour - all of which are covered by this course. During your studies you’ll get the opportunity to organise a live event as part of a team with your fellow students, giving you the opportunity to explore issues such as strategic planning, cultural diversity and issues of sustainability for the event industry. Additionally to this, you’ll complete a 30-week work placement, that can be anywhere in the world, to build a network of professional contacts, bolster your resume, and ultimately enhance your employability. In your final year, you’ll have the choice of options to study, allowing you to tailor your curriculum to suit your interests, passions and career goals. You'll also benefit from a dynamic mix of guest lecturers, visits to local and regional event venues and real-life case studies.Undergraduate students who will successfully complete the Digital Marketing unit have the opportunity to achieve the IDM qualification level 4 Certificate in Digital Marketing, as a result of exemptions awarded by the IDM for the Digital Marketing unit. 91% of our students are working or studying 6 months after graduating (Destination of Leavers from Higher Education, 2019).
