Course summary

Overview

In 2018, Belfast Met launched the Belfast Film and TV School based at the college’s e3 campus on Springfield Road. We deliver award winning courses in bespoke Film, Television and Sound studios. With a fully operational TV studio and gallery control room, a range of professional HD location cameras and industry-standard sound equipment, along with an impressive suite of post-production facilities, our future facing campus equips the next generation of film and documentary producers and directors, creative designers and production journalists with the skills required to work in this growing industry.

The course takes a multi-platform approach and you'll produce news, current affairs and other factual content for a range of media platforms while learning the underpinning core knowledge and practical skills required for the production of digital content. You'll study modules including single camera techniques, video editing, sound for media, podcast production, documentary, news and editorial. In addition, you'll work to real deadlines, researching, producing, writing and presenting news and feature stories as part of a team in our TV studio and gallery. We have excellent links with media industry professionals with opportunities for student engagement.

How will I be assessed?

There are no formal exams on the course - internal assessment is part of the continuous overall assessment for the course and are a combination of written work and practical projects based on industry scenarios in multiplatform formats.
