BA (Hons) Fashion Journalism provides an integrated fashion media experience covering the key aspects of fashion journalism through print, broadcast, online and social media. The course produces accurate, ethical journalists who can operate effectively in any part of the media. **What can you expect?**BA (Hons) Fashion Journalism students learn to cover any topic and to deliver content via any platform, whether print, broadcast or online. Students learn practical skills and the theories that underpin them. Graduates can work in any editorial or commercial environment that requires journalism skills.This course will cover evolving media requirements and the blurred boundaries between editorial and commercial fashion. The curriculum explores the interpretive role of contemporary journalists, and the need to understand audiences.The vision of the course is that fashion is a specialist discipline within journalism. Students will build essential sets of skills, such as Teeline shorthand. Graduates will have the critical thinking, ethical awareness and subject knowledge essential to be able to work in the media sector.Students on this course will have the opportunity to undertake a short work placement in the industry. This gives you experience of working in a company and the chance to make contacts in the industry before you complete your studies. Placements have been taken at the British Film Institute, Dazed and Confused, Vogue and Net-A-Porter.The course is enhanced by lectures from industry practitioners. Recent guest speakers have included Hadley Freeman from The Guardian, Richard Bee from the BBC and author and journalist Colin McDowell. Graduates from this course are competent, confident journalists who can make a significant contribution to the media workplace.London College of Fashion (LCF) undergraduate courses develop your personal and professional skills. On this course you will develop skills in your discipline until you are an independent creative thinker. Your skills will make you capable of making an effective contribution to this sector of the fashion industry. We embed Personal and Professional Development (PPD) skills in all units on every course. Speaker programmes with contributions from alumni and members of industry are a part of many courses. We encourage graduates who wish to continue their education at postgraduate level to progress to suitable courses within the College, the University or elsewhere.Many graduates prefer to seek employment as soon as they have completed their undergraduate studies. Graduates from this course have worked at magazines and brands including Vogue, Hello, Grazia, The Idle Man, Net A Porter and Stylist. Other graduates can be found working at innovative content producing companies such as Hat Trick Productions, Mentorn, Betty and MDTV.This course is based in Lime Grove in Shepherd's Bush, which is west of Holland Park and Notting Hill. Tucked away in a quiet street our Lime Grove campus is a beautiful brick building with rustic windows and high ceilings. Nearby Portobello Road market is the world’s largest antiques market and adjacent Shepherd’s Bush Market is full of vibrant fabrics, fresh produce, furniture and falafel.
