Course summary

In choosing to study Cambria’s Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching (developed and awarded by the University of Chester), you will get the opportunity to cover a range of relevant topics linked to coaching in a variety of sports. You will have the opportunity to develop your coaching skills and learn through a mixture of practical and theoretical sessions that will prepare you for employment or the opportunity to progress onto a top-up year with the University of Chester.

An integral element of this programme of study will be the completion of governing body coaching awards and the opportunity to deliver coaching sessions to FE learners as part of our Active at Cambria strategy.

Assessment

You will be taught through a variety of active and engaging sessions, including lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical workshops. There will also be visiting speakers and opportunities to visit relevant organisations.

Most modules will be assessed through essays and examinations, but there will also be practical coaching, presentations and projects.

The FdSc programme provides a students with an array of career opportunities, including:
