Course summary
Do you love watching and analysing films and television? Are you looking for a career in the creative and cultural industries? This course will give you a solid grounding in film and television history, culture and industries. It will also enhance your understanding of the power and influence of this important form of communication in today's society.Through a broad range of modules you develop your knowledge of screen media texts, producers and audiences. With the support and guidance of our expert lecturers you will be trained in creative thinking, critical investigation and industrial and textual analysis. By the final year you will have the knowledge to conduct original research on a topic of your choice and have the opportunities for training in video production.At Nottingham we also have a Creative Students Network which provides help with the skills needed to find work in the creative industries. It also regularly hosts workshops with guest industry speakers and offers multiple US and UK internships, including with Fox Studios and the Art Directors Guild in Los Angeles, Red Bee Creative in London and others.**Other ways to study Film and Television Studies:**This course is also available with a Foundation Year. You may also combine Film and Television Studies with American Studies in our joint honours programme, or study alongside multiple disciplines in our BA Liberal Arts.
