Overview

This is a highly practical course in Filmmaking. With six Royal Television Society NW student awards and 16 nominations in the last four years, more than any North West University and a winner of the national award for best cinematography in 2016, this course is internationally renowned for excellence.

Building on your existing knowledge we will help you develop your specialism in Writing, Directing, Production, Camera, Lighting, Sound, Set Design and Construction and Post Production.

Past students have secured work on feature films from James Bond to Harry Potter, high end TV dramas from Downton Abbey to The Village and commercials for Sony, Dyson and Ford.

Using our specialised, dedicated 3,000sq foot film studio, or fully equipped production vehicle, you will produce Films and TV programmes using the same equipment that is used on major feature films.

With assistance from our dedicated production fund and teaching by experienced industry professionals, you will work with professional actors on up to six major Film or TV projects throughout the year, depending on your chosen specialism. You will also work on a range of independent productions throughout the year, which will enable you to develop your specialism.

Continuing Your Journey
