COURSE OVERVIEW

If you want to make your mark on the financial world through impactful research, then the Finance PhD is for you. You will have the opportunity to research the key financial factors that affect businesses on a global or micro level. You will get to challenge the status quo and explore ways in improving industry and financial practices. World-class academics from the School of Management will help you shape and develop your research; ensuring you produce the best and most relevant piece of work within your capabilities.

You will have the freedom to research the financial topic of your choice. You may decide to explore housing market dynamics within the UK or decide to research the modelling of financial market volatility using high-frequency international data; whatever your subject matter, we will support you.

Completion of the Finance PhD will set you apart from others as you begin your career in industry or academia.

Associated Research Centres within the School of Management:
The Hawkes Centre for Empirical Finance, which undertakes pioneering research to advance the understanding, development and application of tools and techniques relevant to the analysis of financial and macroeconomic data and phenomena.
