The MSc provides the knowledge and skills to give you a significant edge in this competitive global finance sector.
Students graduating from this programme will gain:
- A critical knowledge of corporate finance and foreign exchange markets;
- The ability to interpret and analyse financial statements;
- The ability to use a wide range of financial modelling techniques to analyse data, conduct research and forecast variables;

- Skills for valuing securities, managing risks, and managing treasury departments;

These knowledge and skills are in high demand in banks, insurance companies, stock broking firms and other industries in the finance sector. They are also in high demand in the treasury departments of many local and multinational companies.
ACT Accredited University
Birmingham Business School, at the University of Birmingham, has been named as an ACCREDITED UNIVERSITY for the professional qualifications awarded by the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT). All students graduating from the MSc Financial Management programme will, in addition to their degree qualification, be able to gain the ACT’s professional qualifications – the Certificate in Treasury Fundamentals and Certificate in Treasury - if they meet the required criteria either through exemption or further study. ACT qualifications are recognised as the global standard for treasury and are an indicator that those holding them are qualified to work in treasury roles in both local and multinational organisations.
