Course summary

On this Fine Art course we encourage you to be engaged, explore and to take risks as you work towards your independent fine art practice. You will make use of our excellent contemporary and traditional facilities to produce challenging modern artworks.We will introduce you to a range of practices that link traditional skills and approaches with alternative media such as sound, video and installation. You will develop imaginative and informed fine art practice and the ability to analyse and discuss contemporary art.Our Professional Practice module will help to strengthen your practical and professional skills, preparing you for employment, further study, or self-employment. You will benefit from our relationships with contemporary galleries and arts organisations. These include: Modern Art OxfordOVADA (Oxfordshire Visual Arts Development Agency)The Old Fire Station GalleryMany of our graduates work as self-employed artists. Others go on to careers in: teaching, arts administration, art therapy, journalism and other roles in the creative industries.
