Course Overview:

Ulster University validates the Foundation Degree and successful completion, depending on grade, enables entry to the linked degree course at the University.

The course is designed for candidates who are interested in following a career in Construction Site Management or Quantity Surveying and who require a Foundation Degree to progress to higher academic qualifications and/or to enhance employment prospects in this field.

The Foundation Degree includes 400 hours of work placement in the second year of the course - providing candidates with an excellent opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge acquired into real life practice (Placement is to be secured by the student in association with the College). Work based Learning is assessed via employer input, the tutor; a written report and a presentation / interview.

Year 1 modules include: Construction Technology 1; Mathematics; 2D CADD, Surveying Technology; BIM Basic; Materials & Comfort; Structures; Introduction to Construction Management.

Year 2 modules include: Work based Learning (400 hours placement); Law & Contract; Site Management; Maintenance & Adaptation; Construction Economics; Construction Technology 2; Group Project.
