Course Information

The Foundation Degree in Education Learning and Development is a newly validated course that meets the current requirements for the evolving workforce and provides you with an opportunity to achieve a full degree.

It is designed to be completed in three years and combines work-based activities, focusing on your experience and work role, with academic study, therefore allows for work commitments.

Assessment

You will be assessed through written assignments, work-based reports, portfolios, presentations and a standardised multi-choice question paper (MCQ).

Career Progression

Those who complete the Foundation Degree can be offered the opportunity to progress to Level 6 BA (Hons) in Education Learning and Development at Coleg Y Cymoedd (Ystrad Mynach campus) or other Top-up Degree programmes at the University of South Wales. Alternatively, using skills developed and experience gained, you can exit with a Foundation Degree (Level 5) and work in your chosen area of occupation.

GCSE/National 4/National 5 : C

You should possess a relevant Level 3 qualification (such as NCFE/CACHE Supporting Teaching Learning, CCLD, DCE , BTEC Health & Social Care (others may be considered) with good literacy and numeracy skills; preferably with a C grade GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, or two A Levels. Mature applicants lacking formal entry requirements but with relevant experience will also be considered.
