The Foundation Degree in Scenic Construction is a new two-year programme launching at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in August 2021.The programme has been developed in response to the acute shortage of suitably qualified entry-level technicians to work in the rapidly expanding stage and screen industries in Wales and beyond.Key Features:Technical Skills - taught skills in carpentry, metalwork, welding, fork lift truck driving, core computer software packages & access equipment trainingIndustry Practice - develop an insight into the theatre & television industryProfessional Placements - five placements across the two years, either at RWCMD’s workshop & theatres or with industry partnersIndustry Partners - Bay Productions, Cardiff Theatrical Services, Bad Wolf (4Wood) & Wild CreationsTop up Degree - the option to top up to BA (Hons) Design for Performance.
