Unlock key language skills for use in a wide range of international fields including diplomacy, business and more. On our French and Russian course, you'll engage with diverse literary, philosophical, and historical traditions from Europe and beyond.With this intercultural degree, you will become fluent in two languages from two different families – Romance and Slavic – a cognitive challenge which will enhance your problem-solving skills and global perspective. During your Year Abroad, you will study, work or teach at one of our partner institutions to improve your language proficiency and establish valuable relationships for your future career.Delve further into your language studies by choosing from a selection of exciting optional modules, which may include:- Russia Unwrapped: Cultures, Contexts, Identities - Fiction in Place of A Public Sphere: The Golden Age of the Russian Novel, from Pushkin to Tolstoy- Behind the Camera: introduction to women's cinema from the 1960s to the present- Audio-Visual Translation Project: Russian to English - Franco-African Relations from de Gaulle to Macron (1944 to the present)- La France ModerneThere's an extensive range of language combinations available to you within our Modern Languages department.

A level : ABB
A level grade B is required for the advanced language you wish to study. It is also possible to study two beginner (including post-GCSE) languages without taking an advanced language, as long as one of your beginner languages is French or Spanish.
