The MLitt in Gender Studies explores the theory and history of gender studies. You will develop an interdisciplinary understanding of the ways in which gender is defined, generated, and communicated as well as learn applied skills in textual, visual, and comparative analysis. Aimed at students who want to deepen their understanding of gender studies including those who may want to continue to a doctoral degree. Degree structure and content helps students with limited direct subject experience to develop advanced knowledge and understanding. Intersectional approach will help you understand the connections between gender, class, ethnicity, sexuality, power, and inequality. Interdisciplinary character allows you to use ideas from different disciplines to illuminate your studies. Integrated training programme connects your academic learning with the development of professional competencies that enhance employability. The MLitt in Gender Studies is distinguished by its interdisciplinary character. You will be encouraged to develop a more rounded, interdisciplinary understanding of gender studies questions and concepts and to use ideas from different disciplines to illuminate your studies. The core modules bring together subject experts from across the University, providing different disciplinary perspectives on key topics. The optional modules allow you to further develop the interdisciplinary character of your studies.
