**Overview**Geography explores the big questions about our planet and is fundamental to our understanding of our rapidly changing world. Our BSc Geography programme combines both human and physical geography and explores some of the critical local and global challenges of this century, such as climate change, globalisation, and sustainable development. We offer a core foundation in human, physical and environmental geography in our first-year modules. You will then have the opportunity to pursue a diverse range of specialisms which match your interests in your second and third years of study. In year three you will complete a dissertation, which brings together the subject knowledge, skills and techniques you have learned in the degree to produce an independent and original piece of academic research on a topic of your choice. You will also enjoy exciting fieldwork opportunities, comprising both local day excursions and longer, residential fieldwork in the UK and overseas. Examples of current residential field course venues include the Lake District, Scotland, Switzerland, California, Provence and Malawi.
