Course summary
Why BSc Geography?
Water, climate change, sea-level rise, coastal risk, pollution, ecological dynamics and global sustainability. These present some of the critical environmental challenges of this century, are geographical in origin and solution, and are the focus of our BSc Geography degree. With this world view, breadth of content and the development of an extensive range of laboratory, statistical and GIS skills, geography graduates continue to be highly sought after across a vast range of employment sectors. At the University of Gloucestershire on this Royal Geographical Society-accredited degree, you'll progress from field training in the UK to field research overseas, forging unforgettable field experiences with us in the landscapes of Europe, Africa and the Americas. The flexibility of our degree programmes means that you have the option to select Human Geography themes on our companion BA course or indeed switch to the BA up until the end of Year 2. You can also choose to benefit from invaluable employment experiences though our internship and sandwich degree options, gaining a competitive edge by networking with potential employers and gaining academic credit towards your degree, all at the same time.
