You’ll dive into diverse geological environments, complete an Independent Earth Sciences Research Project, and engage in unique project work. With placements at top international universities, recent students have explored Canada, Australia, the USA, Singapore, Japan, Swede, France, New Zealand, and beyond. This year abroad will deepen your learning and open up incredible new opportunities.

Fieldwork –

Fieldwork is essential in our degree programmes, renowned for high-quality training. You will get the chance to take part in one week residential's in year one and two to Northern Island and Wales. The University covers travel and accommodation costs for all compulsory field courses. As well as providing basic field supplies.


International Year -

This international experience offers unique academic resources and diverse perspectives. The program emphasises hands-on learning through extensive fieldwork and an independent research project, often linked with industry, providing valuable real-world experience.
