Course summary

You will learn about and investigate the nature, dynamics and evolution of the processes that shaped the Earth over the past four billion years. You'll visit world-famous sites of geological interest, and access leading-edge facilities, including the largest Earth and marine sciences library in Europe. You'll graduate with the skills and knowledge to excel in your career, and tackle some of the world's greatest critical challenges, or continue your studies into research.As part of this course you will:- study in a world-leading research institution, National Oceanography Centre Southampton (NOCS)- access superb facilities, including the National Oceanographic Library and 150 laboratories- participate in field trips both in the UK and abroadAccredited by the Geological Society of London, this means that our teaching is of the highest quality and approved by an independent body of academics and experts.Geology at the University of Southampton is ranked in the top 50 globally and 8th among UK universities (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021).Subject to revalidation.
